Olhos de Água means "Eyes of Water" in Portuguese because of the fresh spring water that can be seen bubbling up through the sand at low tide. It is a bright and lively small village but where you can find everything you need: excellent restaurants to enjoy the seafood and traditional Portuguese cuisine, some of them superbly situated overlooking the golden sandy beach. Also within a short walk from your apartment you will find 2 supermarkets, a post office, bank, pharmacy, wine store and lots of shops, bars, souvenirs. etc., this area boasts some of the finest beaches on the Algarve - on one side of the village - long orange-red sandstone beaches as far as the eye can see, on the other interesting coves, rock pools and the ever changing coastline to explore. Albufeira is a short drive, only 3 kms away, with its splendid and famous nightlife.
